This comforting fact is because of the water intake system designed in the late 1970s by Bob Findlay, developer of Lake Interlochen, remains functioning precisely as originally built. The next Board meeting was scheduled for May 17. Significant achievements in 2018, Seipel cited, were the repair of our dam on Rush Creek; dredging the end of West Channel; and removal of underwater and exposed tree trunks, which have caused damage to boats. The Water Committee and Bill Simmons, together with City personnel, are working on these issues. Water Committee Chair Lester reported good news: excellent results from water testing in first week of May; rainfall and the gravity flow system have maintained lake level at its optimum; more than 155 pounds of tilapia were deposited May 3 at five locations in the lake; all fountains are functioning properly; and silt in the pump still at acceptable level. 48thAnnual Meeting January 11, 2021 Expenses, including the once-a-year cost of stocking the lake with tilapia, are normal. Prices will be obtained on those items. Fountain at end of North Channel kept going off and was restarted by resetting the GFI.
